Facilities responsibilities:

  • Renewal and replacement of state supported facilities
  • All maintenance and repair of state supported property and Installed, non-programmatic systems and equipment
  • Routine grounds upkeep and planned custodial services

 

Facilities Maintenance:

The maintenance department is responsible for all maintenance issues on the NNMC campus. This includes but is not limited to the repairing of the building walls, doors, and windows, painting, replacing ceiling tiles, flooring, access control, minor remodels and repairing, assembling and installing of furniture, minor plumbing issues and electrical issues, office moves and set ups for NNMC related events. Faculty and Staff can submit a Facilities work order request form for any assistance required by the maintenance department.

Custodial Services:

Custodial Services utilizes a zone and crew concept combined with station cleaning to perform general cleaning duties for all state supported facilities. Team Cleaning is still used at management’s discretion, depending on daily work load requirements. Routine daily services include cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking restrooms, vacuuming, dusting, spot cleaning and shampooing carpets, sweeping/mopping/stripping/waxing hard floors, cleaning white boards, trays and erasers, cleaning classroom tables and chairs, cleaning entryway glass doors, cleaning interior walls, cleaning and sanitizing drinking fountains, and emptying trash. Restrooms, common areas, and classrooms are serviced daily, but office (including trash removal) are serviced weekly. Under reduced cleaning, carpets are shampooed and hard floors are stripped and waxed once per year (additional cleaning can be requested at departmental expense). Other services include scheduling and coordinating annual exterior window cleaning (by departmental expense) and special event coverage/weekend cleaning.

Grounds:
The personnel within the Grounds Department take great pride in the appearance of the NNMC campus. The Grounds Department is responsible for all grounds maintenance. This includes but is not limited to the mowing of grasses, trimming trees, trimming bushes, weed control, sprinkler and irrigation system repairs, minor pest control, painting crosswalks, cleaning of the Acequia and emptying of the 55-gallon trash barrels.

Fleet Services:

  • Fleet services provides transportation to NNMC faculty and staff who have a valid Driver’s License and obtain a current Defensive Driving Certificate.
  • To reserve a NNMC fleet vehicle, please fill out a Vehicle Request Form and contact Daniel Towles at 505-747-2107 or daniel.towles@nnmc.edu (preferred) for availability.
  • Please remember that vehicles are reserved on a first come first serve basis. Faculty and Staff checking out an NNMC vehicle will need to provide their Banner I.D as well as their Department Account number.  NNMC Faculty who are traveling with NNMC Students must have an approved field trip request form from the office of the Provost.

Vehicle Rates: 

  • Vehicle usage is billed per mileage traveled to and from destination.
  • The Department account code that is required at check-out will be billed monthly

Maintenance and Inspection:

  • Vehicles are to be inspected upon check out and check in

Preventative Maintenance and Repair:

  • Preventative maintenance and repairs are provided by fleet as needed.
  • If carts or Vehicles are in need of service or repair, please report when checking the vehicle back in.
